Las Madrinas Tribute Donations

Centro San Juan Diego Las Madrinas 9th Annual Tribute - Sunday, May 19, 2013

The love for family, respect for elders, celebration of culture, and dedication to community service are values that are embedded in the latino culture.  Historically, the role of La Madrina, also known as godmother, has been to nurture and insure the personal and spiritual development of another individual.  It is with this in mind, that the primary purpose of Las Madrinas Tribute is to honor individuals and organizations in the community that personify the spirit of "Las Madrina".

In addition, your support will enable us to generate funding for the Bienestar Family Services program which exists to address the rooot causes of poverty through the provision of leadership and personal development, culturally relevant adult education, and family support services.  Over 5,000 individuals and their children receive educational and family support services through the following programs:

  • GED preparation
  • English Language Proficiency (ESL)
  • Computer skills training
  • Citizenship preparation
  • Small business training Seminars
